ArtAnywhere is looking for one or more summer interns who are passionate about the art of business and the business of art. You should be tech-savvy, interested in cutting edge web design and a budding project manager. This is not your usual becubicled internship. We specialize in PopUp! Galleries – taking an empty or unused space inside businesses and transforming them into temporary art exhibits. This internship will give you access to the fascinating world of art being produced by local artists in Montreal, Toronto and New York, as well as the ins-and-outs of a fast-paced technology company looking to grow big quickly.

What we do:

We connect local artists to local businesses for PopUp! Galleries

We sell original art online

We are building the world’s largest online art gallery

What you’ll do:

Assist with the management of PopUp! Galleries primarily in Montreal (possibly Toronto and New York) (project management, artist recruitment and coordination, sales and client relations)

Blog regularly about PopUp! Galleries and other themes aligned with strategic objectives

Research government grant programs for arts funding

Research government tax credit for private art support

Conduct market research and capture client requirements to prepare specifications for new website

Other ad hoc projects as they arise

Bilingualism un atout!

What you’ll learn:

You’ll learn how to create a PopUp! Gallery from start to finish

You’ll learn how the art market really works

You’ll learn how government influences the art world

You’ll learn to use social media for business

You’ll learn how startups work, from strategy formation to execution

Who you are:

Nearing the end of your degree (fine arts, art history, management, computer science, design)

Self motivated and reliable

Able to juggle projects and priorities

At ease with the web and social media tools

Good networker

Results oriented

This is an unpaid 3 to 4 month summer internship to begin as soon as possible. Seeking a full time commitment but hours can be flexible. Through this process, you will meet startup founders, CTOs, angel investors and VCs. It will be rigorous and demanding and thoroughly rewarding.
